KENYA:

Location: Kenya

Dear Collegues,

Thank you so much for the updates; keep up the good work. In Kenya we are having a big day on the 4th of August, when we are going to vote in a referendum on our constitution. It is a big issue here, to know if the draft will be passed or not.  We have two coloured symbols to chose from, YES, which is green, or NO, which is red.  We all look forward for a peaceful election.

Thank you and God bless you all.

ICA International:

From 26-30 July, 2010, representatives from Major Groups involved in the United Nations Forum on Forests met in Accra, Ghana for a five day, multi-stakeholder workshop coordinated by ICA International. This workshop aimed to support the goals of sustainable forest management and poverty eradication. The meeting brought together approximately 70 key representatives from 30 different nations representing Major Groups, as well as representatives from governments and intergovernmental organizations. Click here to view the workshop’s official communiqué.

We are pleased to announce the launch of the new French Working Gifts website at www.cadeauxjustes.org. By expanding French content we improve the accessibility of the Working Gifts program to ICAs and their supporters. We encourage you to visit the new website and send us your feedback. We would like to thank Kimberley for her contribution to this project, and wish her luck as her internship comes to a close and she returns home to France next week.

This week we also say goodbye to Renée Hébert, as she transitions into new work outside of the organization. Renée’s creativity, enthusiasm, and leadership made her a wonderful addition to our staff over the past year. She will be missed. Renée thanks all her colleagues at ICA’s around the world with whom she had the opportunity to work.
