ICA International:

Location: Montreal

Over the past week we have been recruiting and interviewing communications interns for various projects, including the annual report, the Working Gifts program, translation, and general communication needs. We have been working on the next issue of the Network Exchange newsletter, which will be published in May, and the 2009 Annual Report. Renée also worked on the translation and finalization of various ICA International promotional materials.

Lambert continues working on the Major Groups Initiative in support of the United Nations Forum on Forests from Ghana, where he is also working with ICA Ghana to develop a number of project ideas.

Chelsea has been busy preparing for a cycling fundraiser that we will be holding in Montreal in early June. ICA International is entering a team in the 50km Tour de l’Île (ride around the island of Montreal) to raise awareness and support for ICA initiatives. Chelsea has been preparing promotional materials and building a website for the event that will be up and running within the next few days.

This week we are particularly excited to formally welcome Antsa Rakotoarisoa, who has joined our team as the new Office Manager. Antsa is a native of Madagascar, and is fluent in French, English and Malagasy. He has a first degree in mathematics, and received a Masters degree in Management with a focus on entrepreneurship from the University Montesquieu in Bordeaux, France. Antsa has worked with a variety of NGOs, most recently with the World Council of Churches in Switzerland (a strong and principled development organization with historic links to ICA), where he was responsible for providing office management and program coordination support.

Antsa brings a wealth of skills, experience and energy to the team, and is passionate about human development and helping to inspire and empower people to realize change. Antsa is excited to learn more about ICA and contribute to strengthening the organization. We know that you will join us in welcoming him warmly to the ICA community.
