development support committee members, children and women were present. On the main
agenda was the school building site selection, a committee meeting with district
administration, and other projects. Aziz, Shamim, Jamal and Iqbal were from

On the 10th of July the micro action project on AIDS awareness among Ghoramara
Community children, women and men was conducted, by Iqbal with support from Janet
Sanders. A sign in Bangla was posted permanently to raise awareness about
AIDS, its transmission, roots and symptoms. The sign was made as a declaration
for an AIDS free village, after the community meeting.

explored fair trade items on the 9th of July. They found handicraft items like bags, wall
mats, cloth, and nakshikatha, etc. On the 9th of July, Fuad, Nurul, Ripon and Aziz had a meeting

ICA ASSOCIATES INC. (Canada)
Location: Canada
Bill Staples taught -Meetings That Work- at our training centre and associate
Jerry Mings taught -Group Facilitation Methods- both courses were a full
house.
Jo Nelson, John Miller and associates Doug Balsden and Sharon Miller
taught our 6 day advance course -The Art and Science of Participation- in
Regina, Saskatchewan. Many of the participants are from the Regina School Board
- teachers, principals and board staff. This is the second of three Art and
Science courses on our schedule this year. The final one will be in Toronto next
week - full house again. It indicates to us that there are many people who are
looking for deeper training in ToP methods. There will be three of these course
on our 2010 schedule. Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver.
We are finalizing our
calendar for the coming year in anticipation of printing our course catalogue in
August. We will likely have nearly 40 public courses in 2010. Our new series of
three 3 day advanced courses will run 4 times next year across the country.

PERU:
Location: Azpitia and Lima
The second week of the AVANZA PERU course in Peru went extremely well with its
focus on economic development of the communities of the sierra. This week there
were many techinical workshops and a trip to the top agricultural experiment
center in the country. At the same time, the participants were working on their
pedagogy for next week when each will have roles in conducting real
Community Forums in neighboring communities.
Excitement is running
high.Meanwhile in Lima, Carmen Ruiz completed a long project of translating and
putting on the computer the Social Process triangles -- now down to the fifth
level. When each of the nine triangles are printed in color, they can be
mounted on a large sheet of paper to make a fabulous wall display. Just send us
an e-mail if you would like the file of the triangles in Spanish.
