On 24 April, the community project orientation meeting was held in the Office of, 24 N. Ward Commissioner of Dhaka City Corporation, where the TUC Japan supported Street children project of ICA Bangladesh is being implemented. ICA Chairperson Azizur Rahman presided over  the meeting and 24 No. Ward Commissioner, Mr. Niser Ahmed, was Chief Guest.

Around 50 persons including guardians of street children, city officials, local club reps and ICA officials were present. Interestingly 30 guardians of 30 children under the project took part. Fuad welcomed everyone and outlined the context of the meeting. Aziz did an ORID on the project.

Based mostly on a one hour workshop, we could identify the needs of street children, problems and issues and how ICA can play a role in improving their lives and ensure community participation, and city corporation partnership, in undertaking the project.

Shamim visited Ghoramara Human Development project on 25 April in Chandpur and also had a community meeting which reviewed the progress of the Community Development Support committee, and organization of self-help groups for cottage industries, school committee and water user group.
