The staff completed appointments with seven funding agencies this week in search
of funds for travel to the Japan Conference. All were excellent appointments
which opened many doors for funding our work. but none had funds available for
the Conference, including UNDP and the InterAmerican Foundation, both of which
have funded previous conferences. This leaves us with no funding in hand or
committed.to date with contacts dwindling, and time as well. It's time for new
creativity!

The Secretariat team is continuing to focus on fundraising to ensure the sustainability of the organization and to identify sources of funding for national ICAs. Jane led a meeting to identify and prioritize funders, and each team member has taken responsibility for developing proposals in the coming weeks and months. Sarah is working with a number of ICAs to develop proposals for funding to support the national ICAs directly.
