Weekending: Saturday 2008 03 22

BANGLADESH:

Location: Dhaka

We had our very joyful learning of ToT with Larry on 17-22 March. Three day ToT at the Pacific Inn, Banani taught us so many aspects of training. We got 10 ICA associates and 3 paid participants. Two day UNAIDS facilitation training at Bay's Galleria, Gulshan created a scope for further ICA work with non-ICA organizations. 25 participants who attended the workshop on teambuilding knew about ICA and liked our methods so much.

Monthly taskforce meeting March 2008 was held on 21 March at 4pm and continued until 8pm at Pacific Inn. Larry facilitated some sessions. We reviewed our plans made with Maria and Richard in March 2007 and December 2007 and checked our progress. We are very delighted to get Larry's consent to be back in October with Evelyn to facilitate our capacity builing programs.  Besides Evelyn and Larry are trying to introduce to some individuals and organizations in Taiwan who might be interested to support some of our work like orphans and education for the underprivileged children.

PERU:

Location: Chincha Projects

We received the great news this week that a major company has purchased all 30 seats in the upcoming 3-week Avanza Peru leadership training program.  That was based on the success they had with the village leaders who we trained last year.

In addiition we submitted a 125,000 dollar grant through ICA-Japan for the continuity of the 600 Community Kitchens of the city of Chincha.

The staff also held the first round of interviews to select 6 new program staff members to assist with the ongoing projects in Chincha.  Busy time ahead.
