This very exciting event will be taking place next Tuesday the 13th.  Additionally, the Youth as Facilitative Leaders programme held a day-long curriculum development session this week to revise our introductory course, Tools for Teamwork, with a creative group of volunteers. PERU:

Location: Chincha Earthquake Relief

Another week and another 315 homes were built with the total completed now over 1000.  At a spirited meeting of the 60 Promotorers they reported that the total of 1650 homes could well be completed in three weeks, putting the Project about 4 weeks ahead of schedule.  This gave the staff the courage to write the proposal for facilitating the buiding another 1,800 homes beginning in January, however this time there will only be 10 weeks permitted for that Project.  The Promotores as a group also decided to assist three of the neighborhoods which had many more homes to build, so that all 30 sectors can finish together.

Our ICA staff is still watching all of this with some amazement to see how our 5 days of ICA community leadership training awakened these giants to lead their neighborhoods to such rapid results.  At the next meeting in two weeks we will all turn our attention to a grand celebration to signal the completion of the Project.
